- Natural change still high but decreasing.
- Migration from northern states where there is religious and ethnic conflict and high levels of poverty.
- TNC’s employing migrants from the USA, UK and China.
- Majority rural-urban migration.

How has land use changed in different parts of Lagos?
A
- City has expanded outwards. People forced to more to the RUF due to rising house prices in the inner city.
- Some slums have been upgraded to permanent houses. 3-4 story apartments have been built.
- Empty areas are now built on Makoko. Slums are built on waste land areas and in understandable areas such as Makako as people build homes on stilts in the Lagoon.
