Title 14 CFR FAR 61.3(l)
Only for a pilot who is or has been in operation of an aircraft

AAA
Administrator
Authorized representative of the NTSB or TSA
Any federal, state, or local law enforcement officer
What documents must be presented in a pilot certification inspection and under what authority?
61.3 = in physical possession or readily accessible
- Pilot License
- Government Issued Photo Identification
- Medical certificate
91.203 = Aircraft Documents
- Airworthiness Certificate
- FAA registration
- 337 Form for extra fuel tank
Can a passenger’s documents be searched in relation to a pilot certificate inspection?
No, if a passenger did not, or will not serve as a pilot, you may not detain
(Unless you have reasonable suspicion that they are involved in criminal activity justifying an investigative detention of if a border search is allowed)
What suspicion level is required for a pilot certificate inspection?
Zero suspicion
