A
Movement
6
Q
Types of Muscular tissue
A
Smooth muscle, Cardiac muscle, Skeletal muscle
7
Q
What is the lamina propria made of?
A
Connective tissue
8
Q
Epithelial features
A
- Apical and basal surface
- Avascular; nutrients must diffuse
- High capacity for regeneration
- Cells are in close contact w/ each other w/ little or no intercellular space b/w them
- May have junctions for both attachment & communication
- Resting on a basement membrane
9
Q
Epithelial classification
A
- # of layers1 = simple
1 irregularly-shaped = pseudostratified
More than 1 = stratified
More than 1 of similar cells = transitional - Shape of the cells of outermost layer
Flat = squamous
Square, round, cubical = cuboidal
Tall = columnar
10
Q
Where is transitional epithelial tissue found?
A
Urinary tract as they are capable of stretching
