What is Lance Adams syndrome?

Lance adams syndrome is intention or action evoked myoclonic jerks occurring as a result of hypoxic brain injury. It has a good prognosis compared to myoclonic status epilepticus which also occurs post hypoxic brain injury and is used as an indicator of brain death. key feature of Lance adams syndrome is that the patient is awake, not comatose. Tends to come on later, ie 1 week and can persist chronically. very rare, only 150 documented cases.
