Autonomic Sx of Epilepsy
Anxiety, Tachycardia, Sweating, Piloerection, abn sensation in chest
2 types of generalized seizures
Tonic-Clonic (Grand mal) Absence seizures (petit mal)
How often do grand mal seizures last?
2-5 minutes
Simple Partial Seizure
Focal limited to a portion of the body with consciousness perserved
Focal motor seizure
Clonic activity in specific area of body
Focal motor with March
Orderly spread of clonic movements to entire body
Temporal Lobe seizure
Episodic changes in behavior with hallucinations and automatisms
What is a temporal lobe seizure preceded by?
Aura
Complex Partial Seizure
Simple partial seizure followed by impairment of consciousness
Secondary generalized seizure
Partial seizure evolving to generalized seizure
Status epilepticus
Prolonged seizure or series of seizures lasting > 30 minutes
