Long narrative poem that tells the deed of a great person, an epic hero. They express the core values and beliefs of particular cultures. (Most important values). Can also serve religious and nationalistic purposes.
Epic

Words or short phrases that highlight key qualities of characters or objects.
Epithets
An extended simile often running to several lines, used typically in epic poetry to intensify the heroic stature of the subject and to serve as decoration.
