Find Provider’s Schedule
Provider home page → Calendar icon→ choose day
Review patient information
Click patient name → chart review tab → encounters
Chart Review
Click on patient name → chart review tab → encounters → look at note in notes→ lab results in lab results tab→ pathology reports in pathology → imaging under imaging tab
Update Allergies, Medications and History
Rooming tab → allergies —> add any new allergies → add
Medication review → add/edit meds → add
History → add/edit pertinent medical history
Update Problems & diagnoses
Plan tab → Problem list → add any problems→ click “add”–> hit “accept” x2
Pend an order for the physician
Bottom left corner “Add order” → type in order→ enter → add appropriate med → accept→ now waiting got physician to review and accept
Write Notes
Select pt → double click right hand side → create note →
SmartPhrases
EPIC→ smartPHRASE manager → click on green + sign → type in what to be included in SP → add in SP name → accept
Wrap Up & Follow up
Wrap up tab (pt instructions) → include info on how to take a medication or a prenatal checklist (add duration)
