First Roman Emperor in 27 BCE, ending the Roman Republic and beginning the Roman Empire.

Established in 27 BCE following the end of the Roman Republic - Started by Augustus Octavian

Worship of emperors as divine figures in Rome.

Male head of a Roman family with legal authority.

Anointed one expected to deliver and save.

Sacred agreement between God and His people.

Social hierarchy in India, dividing society into classes.
Brahmins
Priestly caste in Hindu society, responsible for rituals.
Moksha
Liberation from the cycle of rebirth in Hinduism.
Buddha
Founder of Buddhism, known as Siddhartha Gautama.
Four Noble Truths
The truth that people are constantly suffering, the truth that suffering is caused by greed, craving, and material possesions, the truth of that this suffering can be ended, and the truth that to end suffering one must follow the eight-fold path.

Ancient trade route connecting East and West. Major religions spread across Asia these paths.
Constantine
First Roman emperor to convert to Christianity; encouraging the tolerance and spread of the religion.
Old Testament
Serves as a foundation for understanding God’s character, laws, and promises. First 5 books are the Torah.

Twenty-seven short writings written by the earliest Christians that told the story of Jesus’ life
Church leaders
Pope: Head bishop of the Roman Catholic Church.
Patriarchs: Christian religious leaders that held as much power as bishops.
Bishops: Presided over religious affairs in their districts.
