Define: Enzymes
Enzymes are proteins that help speed up metabolism, or the chemical reactions in our bodies.
Define: Saliva
The watery fluid in the mouth is made by the salivary glands. Saliva moistens food to help digestion and it helps protect the mouth against infections.

As food travels from your mouth into your digestive system, it’s broken down by digestive enzymes that turn it into smaller nutrients that your body can easily absorb.
