What do enzymes do?
A
They are biological catalysts. They lower the activation energy of a reaction without being used up themselves

What are enzymes made out of?
A
They are proteins so they are made from lots of amino acids joined together with a very specific 3D shape.

What do they look like?
A
they have an indent called an active site which has a specific 3D shape that is complimentary to the substrate

What is the substrate?
A
It is a molecule that is complimentary to and so fits to the active site
