what is a catalyst ?
a substance which fastens a reaction without getting used up .
what can you do to make a reaction quicker ?
by raising the temperature.
explain what happens in the active site
the substrate enters the enzymes and then creates the product . also the enzyme doesn’t change
what happens when the enzymes gets too hot ?
when the enzyme gets to hot it starts to denature
what does it mean when there is a straight line in a diagram ( enzyme )
it means all the active sites are full
why do enzymes have an optimum ph
if the ph is too high or to low it will affect the work rate of the enzyme
what does carbohydrate break down into ?
carbohydrates break down into simple sugars by amylase
what does protein break down into ?
protein breaks down into amino acids by protease
what does lipids break down into ?
lipids break down into fatty acids and glycerol.
