When an enzyme loses its shape. The substrate can longer fit.

The variable you change.
Dependant Variable
The variable you measure.

The variable you keep the same.

How an enzyme only fits one substrate, they are complementary.
Optimum
Each enzyme has its own specific optimum conditions under which it works best.
