Envoy Deck 3 Flashcards
RVR sensors
TDZ/MID/ROLLOUT
Can fly with 2 operative, but 3 are controlling. Ex: for approaching requiring 5/5/5 - 5/4/5 Not okay, 5/m/5 is okay
When do you need a Takeoff Alternate?
121.617
- When you can take off but not land in case of engine failure(Takeoff Minimums are Lower than Landing Minimums)
- Must be within 1 hr for 2 engines, no more than 2 hour for 3 or more engines.
RVSM
Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum
- Reduction in standard vertical Seperation between FL290 and FL410 from 2,000 to 1,000ft
- Required Equipment: Dual Independent ADC, Mode C transponder, altitude alerting system(error tolerance is 200ft apart), an automatic altitude control system.
ARP
Airport Reference Point
MAA
Maximum Authorized Altitude
Above this altitude you may start picking up signals from other navaids
Chart Number
1st Number: City
2nd Number: Type of Approach(lower=more precise)
3rd number: filing order in navigation type
CDL
Configuration Deviation List
- Identifies any external part of an aircraft type that can be missing at the beginning of a flight and the aircraft will remain airworthy
MEA
Minimum Enroute Altitude
- Provides 1000ft non-mountainous obstacle clearance. 2000ft mountainous and guarantees nav signal coverage.
MOCA
Minimum Obstacle clearance altitude, and nav signal within 22nm
What do you need to descend past DA?
100ft above TDZE if you have red side bars or terminating bars, all the way down with any: Runway, Threshold, Touchdown Zone (Markings or Lights for all), VASI, REILs
Adequate Visual Reference (AVR)
Enough visual reference to maintain directional control on takeoff, if at an airport that doesnt have TDZ, Cl, and Roll out RVR.
RAIL
Runway Alignment Identifier Lights
EMAS
Engineered Material Arresting System
