A

STOCKHOLM DECLARATION
- 1972 UN hosts first international environmental conference
- declaration agreed on 26 principles concerning the environment and development
- began an international recognition of environmental rights, where meetings occured every 3-5 years from there

other treaties include:
- MONTRAL PROCOTOL
- UN FRAMEWORK ON CLIMATE CHANGE
- KYOTO PROTOCOL FOR GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS

^^ these tretaies resulted in significant steps during the 90s towards protecting environmental rights
