Conditions that threaten physical safety eg: Fires Explosives Noise Temperature
Biological Hazards
Are organisms or byproducts from an organism that are harmful or potentially harmful to human beings. Eg: Virus Bacteria Parasites
Chemical Hazards
Present when a person is exposed to a harmful chemical at home or at work.

Pathway- route by which hazard gets from source to person.
Response- health outcome after hazard has affected person.
Principles of Hazard Management
> Establish context & identify hazard > Hazard/risk analysis & evaluation > Communicate & consult > Treat hazard/risk > Monitoring & reviewing > Record keeping
Examples of Pollutants of air & water ecosystems
Gases (CO, O3, NO2) Chemical vapors Dust particles Fumes Liquid chemicals (pesticides, solvents, drugs)
