Find an example of an environmental issue that shows how developing an ecological conscience led people to take responsibility and change their behaviour.
Litter
Most people do not litter like they used to.
Do we not already sing our love for and obligation to the land of the free? But what do we love? Certainly not the soil which we send helter-skelter downriver. Not the waters which function only to turn turbines, float barges and carry off sewage. Not plants, which we exterminate whole communities of without batting an eye. Not animals of which we have already exterminated many of the largest and most beautiful species.
A Land Ethic cannot prevent the ? and ? of these “resources” but it does affirm their right to continued existence, and at least in spots their continued existence in a natural state.”
