Environmental Flashcards
Describe the operation of the temperature control system with the MODE switch in AUTO
The positions of the Temperature Modulating Valves are automatically adjusted by the Air Management System Controller (AMSC) to mix pre-cooled pneumatic supply air with Heat Exchanger cooled air to achieve the selected cockpit and cabin temperature. Additionally, the Vapor Cycle System (VCS) cycles on and off as required.
Describe the operation of the temperature control system with the MODE switch in OFF.
All functions are the same as in AUTO except that the Vapor Cycle System (VCS) is disabled.
Describe the operation of the temperature control system with the MODE switch in MAN.
The positions of the Temperature Modulating Valves are manually adjusted using the TEMP switch to mix pre-cooled pneumatic supply air with Heat Exchanger cooled air. The Vapor Cycle System still operates as required.
Does the Vapor Cycle System operate with the MODE switch in MAN?
Yes
What component of the temperature control system is disabled with the MODE switch in the OFF position?
Vapor Cycle System
Does the temperature control system operate automatically or manually with the MODE switch in the OFF position?
Automatically
What is the cockpit indication that the Vapor Cycle System is active?
Environmental Synoptic Page
What power source(s) are required for the Vapor Cycle System to operate?
GPU or at least one generator (28V power source)
