Environment Flashcards
Did you ever have a pet?
Yes, I have a one-year-old black cat. His name is Chille. I adopted him from an old couple and he became part of our family when he was four months old. Although chillie is sleeping most of time, he is active and full of energy when he’s awake.
What animals are popular as pets in your country?
The most common pets here are cats and dogs. Dogs are very active and playful, they like doing outdoor activities like walking in the park or playing catch. Cats tend to be an indoor animal. they spend most of their time sleeping and they can be a very good companion when you are at home.
Have you ever done anything to protect the environment?
Yes. I take environmental issues very seriously. My first strategy is that I use public transportation most of the time and if I have to drive my car I try to keep it to a minimum. The other strategy is to eat less meat. Recent studies show that Eating plants uses much less water than eating animals it also decreases the amount of greenhouse gases that enter the atmosphere.
(active volunteer at several environmental organizations,)
What is the biggest environmental problem in your country?
Air pollution in our country is one of the most serious environmental issues, and many major cities are affected by it. It is also responsible for health-related problems among citizens that kill many people every year And Increasing carbon emissions from industries and cars makes the situation worse every day.
Describe an environmental problem in your country.
Air pollution in our country is one of the most serious environmental problems, and many major cities in our country are affected by it. Increasing carbon emission from industries and automobiles makes it worse every day. Other harmful particles produced from burning fossil fuel have made the situation graver.
The effects of air pollution are really dangerous. Air pollution in my country is responsible for many health-related problems among citizens, and also kills many people every year. It is liable for causing respiratory disorders and many people get sick who are exposed to air pollution for a long time. The usual short-term problems include difficulties in breathing, bronchitis, heart ailments and so on while it can lead to cancer or even death in the long run. Unfortunately, air pollution in our country is reducing the life expectancy of many people.
No doubt, air pollution is a global problem now, and in my country, fossil fuels and rapid industrialisation are the primary reasons behind it. The excessive use of machinery and motorised vehicles ignites the rise of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Increasing dust particles make things more damaging.
Air pollution is a burning issue for our country now. Some cautionary measures should be taken to check the air pollution level. The most important step to reducing air pollution is to reduce carbon emissions. So we need to reduce the use of gas, oil and other fossil fuels. Alternative energy or green energy like solar energy, hydroelectric power and wind power should be used more extensively. A massive awareness among ordinary people about air pollution is also required to curb the problem.
What can governments do to prevent illegal hunting?
Stopping illegal hunting is one of the most important parts of the government’s job (to protect iconic and threatened wildlife.) To begin with, They should stop hunting in the first place by building a protected area for wildlife. Then strict punishments should be considered against those caught in it and The market for these products should be closed.
Is there anything we as individuals can do to prevent illegal hunting?
As a citizen, we have an important role in stopping criminal hunters who threaten many of the world’s most endangered species. To begin with We have to Report suspected evidence of animal hunting to the National Wildlife Crime Unit. moreover, We should ask before buying parts and products of wildlife.
Will there be more or less hunting in the future?
I think we should expect an extreme fall in the rate of illegal hunting in the future because of (the strict policy that the government has approached) (the government’s strict policy) against these criminal hunters who have been a threat to Many endangered species. On the other hand, there is also going to be more protection and volunteer force in forbidden hunting areas to stop the hunters.
