Bleeiding from the nostrils, most of nose bleeds are this,
Anterior nosebleed
Bleeding through posterior nasal aperture, could be accompanied by hemoptysis, hematemesis, melena due to swallowing blood
Posterior nosebleed
What are the vessels that form the Kiesselbach plexus?
LEGS: Labial, Ethmoidal, Greater palatine, Sphenopalatine
How do you manage continued epistaxis?
If bleeding persists after applying pressure, use topical vasoconstrictors and nasal cautery. Nasal packing can be used if the bleeding site cannot be identified
What are the M-CENTOR criteria?
M - Must be older than 3 years
C - cough absent
E - Exudate on the tonsils
N - node enlargement
T - Temperature elevation
OR - young OR old
