A

For mild-mod = intranasal corticosteroids
Severe or no response to nasal steroids after 72 hrs = abx
Adjunct = nasal saline irrigation

What are the symptoms of rhinosinusitis?

A

Pain, pressure or fullness - facial
Obstruction - nasal
Discharge (discoloured) or nasal purulence
Smell (hyposmia or anosmia)

  • Must have nasal obstruction or purulence/discharge + 1 other symptom
  • 3-view sinus x-ray or CT for recurrent ABRS (> or equal to 4/yr)
