- both bully and victim face problems with self control
- causes of bullying:
1) family factors: aggressive behaviour, physical and verbal abyss
2) individual factors: active, impulsive children with lack of self control
3) school factors: lack of supervision, intervention and school climate

- can be name calling to homophobic comments, suggestive gestures, sexual innuendos, and comments of sexual nature
- it can happen anywhere (playground, school bus, hallways, etc)
