What are the three types of filters?
Polarizing
U.V.
Contrast filters (black & white film)
What happens when you choose a channel (contrast filter)?
The selected channel will allow its own colour to pass while blocking other colours. ( meaning they lighten their colour and darken others creating contrast)
Example: red channel will lighten red and making blue and green darker
What are the two main colour modes we use?
RBG (red,blue,green)
CMYK (cyan,magenta,yellow,black)
What do channels do for fingerprints?
Can be used to improve contrast between fingerprints and the background
When might you choose CMYK?
Prints developed using Ninhydrin.
It works opposite of RBG and darken it’s own channel
When would you use Black & white adjustments in photoshop?
Used when a fingerprint is on multicoloured surface. Also put into grey scale.
Why do we use a minimum of 8 bit?
The tone is continuous
