What is a simile?
To describe something ‘as’ or ‘like’ something else. For example, as busy as a bee.
What is a metaphor?
It describes a thing using an object that doesn’t make sense, but can make people understand. For example, the snow is a white blanket.

It is a pause in a sentence using a punctuation in the middle of a sentence.
What is enjambment?
It means going to another sentence without using a punctuation to stop it.
What is tone shift?
It is a change of a style or the focus in a text.

It is a sound in a poetry like da DUM for human heartbeat. It is ten sylbols.
What is personification?
It is where animals or plants are doing something that only human can do.
What is alliteration?
It is to repeat the same sound at the start of the words in a sentence. For exemple ‘Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.’
What is rhyme scheme?
It is a rhyme pattern that in the end of every line of a poem, which repeat in most paragraphs in a poem like AABB or ABAB.
What is a rhyme?
The same sounds between endings of words, which is mostly used in poetry.
What is repetition?
It is when you repeat words, phrases or lines.
What is onomatopoeia?
It is a sound in poetry that make sense, like ‘hiss’ or ‘buzz’.
What is slang?
It is the language that you use with your friends, and not in a polite conversation.
What is colloquial language?
It is a language that is only used in a certain places like specific regions. For example, ‘gonna’ is a colloquial language.
What is nonsensical language?
It is words that you don’t understand and make no sense.
