A

Created by Queen Elizabeth the first, the middle way was a religious settlment which appealed to both the catholics and protestants.
- the church looked catholic but though protestant, forming the ideology that the pope was not the head of the church.

A

James believed in the divine right of kings and knew the changing structure of the church would affect his rule (since power comes from the church which forms ideologies of power, and life uniting the state and homes).
- if people didn’t believe their was a hierarchy, then they would not follow James.

A

He was named the Duke of Buckingham in 1623.
- James made him the cup barrier, making him an earl (the highest noble)
- he quickly rose to the ranks and became the admiral of the Navy (he had no experience).

A

he was paid 8,000 and the deficit was 9,000. As a result of this and James being spendthrift, inflation became an issue.

A

- by 1611 he tries to sell his own tittles but its too late.
