Reading Process Approach
A reader’s belief or understanding of a text’s topic before reading the text
Prior Knowledge
The first stage of the reading Process, wherein readers activate their prior knowledge and set their purpose in reading
Pre-reading
The Stage in the reading process wherein readers do the actual reading by thinking about how the text makes sense
Reading
The stage of the reading process wherein the readers respond to the ideas and information in the text, based on their reflections during the reading stage
