what is hyperbole?
exaggerating something
what is irony?
sarcasm/ funny words implying the opposite
what is onomatopoeia?
describing a noise e.g. whoosh
what is an oxymoron?
opposite words e.g. cold and hot
what is personification?
giving an object a human quality e.g. the tree talked
what is repetition?
repeating words (to exaggerate it)
what is a simile?
‘like a ‘ ‘as a’ - linking to something
what is a sentence type?
long or short sentences

what do you need to include in the introduction?
- context of both poems (what they are about)
- similarity and difference between them both
- what will be mentioned in essay (poets ideas, mood, how this is created using language techniques)

- what you think the authors intention was to make the audience feel
