What is criterion B?

What is evaluative language?
Adverbs, verbs and aadjectives that have an evaluative nature and helps indicate evaluation when used throughout your response.
Examples of evaluative language.

Questions, Accepts, celebrates, ridicules, indicate, assume.
What is reader effect?
This refers to the specific effects the author’s literary choices had on the readers/ audience.
What is specifically meant by effect?
This is what the readers say:
- Think - thoughts
- feel - emotions
- want - wishes
After reading and digesting the literary text
How can you analyze and present the reader effect from the text to your response?
You can look for evidence and technique in the text and discuss the effects of such (feelings, thoughts, wants that could be evoked by them) in your response.
Examples of some techniques, evidence and effects.
Techniques- use of irony, use of satire, salutation, tone etc
