What is a clause?
A word group that contains both a verb and a subject and is also used as a sentence OR part of a sentence
What is an Independent Clause?
Expresses a complete thought and can stand by itself as a sentence; a.k.a. ‘main clause’
What is a Subordinate Clause?
A clause that does not express a complete thought and cannot stand by itself as a complete sentence
What is an Adjective Clause?
A subordinate clause that modifies a noun or pronoun
What is an Adverb Clause?
A subordinate clause that modifies a verb, adjective, or another adverb
What do Adverb Clauses begin with?
