When the author states the main idea in a paragraph.It can be anywhere but it is usually in the first or second sentences.
Supporting Sentences
They support,explain or provides the main idea.
Facts
Statements that can be test and proved true
Examples
Are specific instances of the idea
Sensory Details
They are details of the 5 senses
Clincher Sentence
Ties the information together in the supporting sentences, and reminds the reader of the importance of the main idea.
Coherence
When the details in a paragraph are arranged in a way that makes sense to the reader.
Transitional Word And Phrases
They are connectors that tie the ideas,sentences and paragraphs together.
Elaboration
Explains or illustrates the supporting parts and details so that the reader has a clear picture of the main idea.
Unity
When all the sentences work together to support the main idea.
Spatial Order
Pressed details according to the location.
Chronological Order
Present details in the order of when it happened
Order Of Importance
You arranged details to most important to least important or least important to most important.
