What is a personal pronoun?
Eg.
I,you,she,he,it,we,they
Words that replace nouns so that we don’t have to keep repeating ourselves
What are complex nouns?
Eg.
(The new boy )did not have any friends
(The schools in our area )are having a competition
(It can also be joined by hyphens)
A group of words that work together as a noun. They are also known as noun phrases. Sometimes they are joined together by hyphens.
What are possessive pronouns?
Eg.
Mine,his,ours,theirs,hers
Possessive pronouns are pronouns that show ownership
What is a finite verb?
A finite verb stands alone in a sentence without any help from an auxiliary (helping ) verb
What is an auxiliary verb?
Eg.
Was,will be,are
A helping verb

What is a compound noun?
Eg.
Schoolchildren -one word
School principal -two words
Cross-country-joined by hyphen
