A metaphor is describing something that it is not
Simile
A simile is a word using like or as before it e.g the boy swam like a fish

Onomatopoeia is when a word sounds like the sound of the word

Alliteration is when words start with the same sound
Personification
Personification is when you describe something with human features but does not actually have those features
Rhyming couplets
Rhyming couplets are two lines that rhyme

Verses are when you leave gaps between a paragraph

Suffixes are a group of letters that are on the end of a word

Prefixes are a group of letters that are on the start of a word

Speech marks show when someone is talking
