Allusion

Climax
an idea or feeling that a word invokes in addition to its literal or primary meaning.
Connotation
a scene in a movie, novel, etc., set in a time earlier than the main story.
Flashback
be a warning or indication of (a future event).
Foreshadowing
the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
Personification
someone telling you his or her story
1st person
you being told how you should do something
2nd Person
the he/she/it/they perspective.
3rd Person
exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
Hyperbole
a line of verse with five metrical feet, each consisting of one short (or unstressed) syllable followed by one long (or stressed) syllable, for example Two households, both alike in dignity.
Iambic Pentameter
visually descriptive or figurative language, especially in a literary work.
Imagery
the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g., cuckoo, sizzle ).
Onomatopoeia
happens when a character’s dialogue is spoken but not heard by the other actors on the stage. Asides are useful for giving the audience special information about the other characters onstage or the action of the plot.
Aside
an act of speaking one’s thoughts aloud when by oneself or regardless of any hearers, especially by a character in a play.
