Engines Flashcards
What are the conditions in which the FADEC can abort a manual start?
1.) in case the EGT exceeds the start limit before N2 reaches 50%.
2.) in case of starter shaft shear fault.
3.) in case of dual N2 sensor failures.
In case of a go around what is the speed that the FMS sets?
The speed is set to the Vapp or current speed limited to VLS +25 in two engine configuration and VLS +15 in single engine configuration.
Which lateral mode is engaged , if the go round is initiated below hundred feet RA?
If the go around is initiated below hundred feet RA, GA TRK or HDG mode is engaged. Above hundred feet, RA NAV mode engages. The plane must be in the capture zone of the flight plan, and no hdg or trk must be preset.
When does the fadec not have the authority to abort a manual start?
The FADEC has not the authority to abort the manual start:
‐ in flight
‐ on ground, except if:
‐ the start EGT limit is exceeded before reaching 50 % N2, or
‐ starter shaft shear fault occurs, or
‐ dual N2 sensor failure occurs.
In this case only, the FADEC aborts the start.
What type of a start does the fadec command in flight for manual start? ( windmill quick relight, starter assisted or windmill stabilized relight)
In flight, the FADEC always commands a starter-assisted air start.
During normal engine start when does the ignition stop?
55%
When does the engine start valve close?
63%
When does the fadec auto select continuous ignition?
The FADEC activates the automatic continuous ignition
1)after the second attempt failed during the automatic sequence of the engine start, or,
2)when an engine flameout condition is detected.
