Engine Starting Sequence

A

Fuel Boost Switch - ON
Verify Amber FUEL BOOST ON is showing, amber FUEL PRESS LOW is removed, and no fuel flow

Starter Switch - START
Verify white IGNITION ON annunciator is shown, oil pressure indicated, and Ng stable above 12% (16-18% is normal)

Fuel Condition Lever - LOW IDLE
Verify fuel Flow between 90-140 ppm, ITT rising steadily (1090 degrees max 2 seconds)

Verify Ng 55% minimum
Starter Switch - OFF
Verify amber STARTER ENERGIZED annunciator is not shown
Check EIS parameters in Normal range, check GEN AMPS load
Verify GENERATOR OFF annunciator is not shown
Verify positive rate of charge on BAT AMPS

Fuel Boost Switch - NORM
Verify amber FUEL BOOST ON is not shown
AVIONICS NO.2 switch - ON

Initiate After Start Flow

Indications of a Hot Start

A

Rapid Rise in ITT when fuel is added
High Fuel Flow indications (greater than 140 mph)
Flames and or smoke from engine exhaust

Indications of a Hung Start

A

Ng stops accelerating normally, will hang up approximatelyimatley 35%
Fuel Flow indications will be lower than normal
