In addition to daily checks, what is included in a weekly check?
A
- Air brake test
- Under apparatus
- steering gear box leaks or damage
- steering linkage for excessive play or damage
- springs for cracks, damage or missing nuts & bolts
- shocks for leaks or damage
- brake hose and chambers (pods) for damage
- brake drums or rotors for damage or leaks
- bottom of transmission for damage or leak
- bottom of transfer case for damage or leaks
- check drive shaft ( driveline to rear differential and to the pump)
- check pump for excessive damage or leaks
- check exhaust system for damage
- check fuel tank for leaks and damage
- check fuel lines food leaks or damage
- check wiring for damage
- check frame for cracks or damage
- check mud flaps
- check for any loose nuts, bolts, brackets, etc. - General
- wash truck
- wax truck
- clean windows/ mirrors
- wash and apply protectant to tires.
- wash and apply protectant to vinyl and plastic
- vacuum inside
- clean equipment
- clean compartments

What is the daily check for approaching apparatus?
A
- See if trucks leans to one side
- Inspect Any obvious leaks
- Inspect Any new damage to apparatus

What is daily check for engine compartment?
A
- Look for leaks
- Check oil level (at least 30 min after shutdown)
- Check coolant level (cold engine) or with sight glass
- Check power steering fluid
- Check transmission fluid at normal operating temp,engine running at ideal.
- Check brake fails if applicable
- Check belts and hoses
- Check for damage wiring
- Check engine compartment lights.
- Check batteries and cables

What is daily check for inside the cab?
A
- Insure parking brake is set
- Adjust seat
- Adjust mirrors
- Adjust steering wheel
- Check truck mileage
- Check truck hours
- Check windshield for cracks and cleanliness
- Check steering wheel ( less then 10 deg play in either direction with truck on)
- Check general cleanliness and condition of upholstery
- Check siren
- Check horn
- Check radio channel and volume
- Check cell phone
- Check map book
- Check clipboards
- Check other books
- Check fuel card
- Check for PAR board and update it
- Start apparatus
- Check all gauges (oil, volts, fuel, air pressure, tachometer, speedometer, transmission temp)
- Check dash lights
- Check cab lights
- Check wipers
- Check heating and cooling
- Check compartment door open warning/buzzer light
- Turn on lights( emergency, hazards, headlights)
- Exit cab and check ( emergency lights, headlights hi/low beam, tail lights, four way flasher, clearance lights, reflectors, spot light, scene light)
- Return to cab and turn off (four way flashers, headlights, emergency lights), check turn signals one at a time, have assistant check brake and back-up light and alarm, place truck in pump and go to panel.

What is daily check for pump panel?
A
- Check gauges (oil, water temp, volt,tach, intake discharge)
- Check okay to pump light is on
- Ensure bleeders valves are closed
- Ensure all discharge valves are closed
- Open engine cooler
- Open tank to pump valve
- Check panel lights
- Check water tank level
- Check foam tank level
- Take truck out of pump
- Return to panel and work all discharge and bleeder gates and valves ( don’t open foam valves unless you intend to flush the system)

What is daily check for trucks with standard throttle and pressure relief valve?
A
- Fully open the tank fill valve
- Increase throttle to approx 150 psi
- Set relief at 150 psi
- Close tank fill valve (relief valve should open to absorb excess pressure)
- Relief valve should reset to closed position
- Throttle truck down to idle

What is daily check for a truck with pressure control governor (pcg)?
A
- Turn PCG on and set psi or pressure mode
- Increase throttle to approx 150 psi
- Fully open tank fill ( PCG should increase the engine RPM to maintain 150 psi)
- Close tank fill valve ( PCG should decrease engine pressure to maintain 150 psi)
- Turn PCG off

What is daily check for tires?
A
- Check sidewall and tread for damage or foreign objects
- Check tread depth (front 4/32 inch min, rear 2/32 inch min)
- Check for rear duals for objects
- Check Rear duals are not touching
- Check tire pressure ( inflate to manufacturer pressure on plate)
- Check rim for damage
- Check lug nuts
- Check wheel seal for leaks and if applicable check sight glass for property level
