Q

List the basic features of a typical power station:

A
  • Fossil fuel is burned to convert its chemical energy to heat energy
  • Heat energy is used to heat water or air to produce steam
  • Steam turns the turbine converting heat energy into kinetic
  • The turbine is connected to a generator, which transfers kinetic energy into electrical energy
