Energy On The Move & Electricity Flashcards
What is conduction?
Conduction is the method of heat transfer in solids.
What is convention?
Convention is the method of heat transfer in liquids and gasses
What is radiation?
Radiation is the only method of heat transfer that does not require particles as a medium.
What are the two types of waves?
Longitudinal (left & right)
Transverse (up & down)
What is heat energy?
Conduction, convention and radiation
All waves have?
1) amplitude
2) wavelength
3) frequency
What is amplitude?
Amplitude is height of the wave
What is wave length?
Wave length is the distance between waves
What are the 3 ways light can act?
1) transparent
2) translusent
3) opaque
What is electricity?
Form of energy that can produce light and heat
What are comprestion waves?
Waves where particles are crowded together
What are rarefractions?
Where the waves particles are SPREAD APART
What is the difference between a series and parallel circuit?
Series has it all in one complete loop and parallel circuit has got several loops
