What happes to matter (Closed System) on earth
It is constantly recycled and remade into useful matter and the amount of matter on earth always stays constant.
What are some elements that make up Matter?
Carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, sulfur, and phosphorus.
What happes to Energy ( open system) on earth
It cannot be completely cycled into useful energy.
What is abiotic and biotic factors
Abiotic is non living organisms, like sunlight and water, while biotic is living organisms, like bunnies and plants.
What can energy loss cause?
Heat.
What’s something important about energy transfer?
It’s never 100% efficient
What is constantly required for sustaining life?
New energy input.
What is the first law of thermodynamics?
Energy cannot be created nor destroyed, and it can only change forms or be transferred from one place to another.
What is the second law of thermodynamics?
No transfer of energy is completely efficient, some energy will always be lost in the form of heat.
Label the 4 trophic levels from first, to last.
Producers, primary consumers, secondary consumers, teritary consumers.
