What is energy?
Energy makes things happen, move or change.
What is a source of energy?
Something that we get energy from.
What are nutrients?
Substance in food that living things need to live, to grow and to stay healthy.
What do all living things need?
Energy to live. They use energy to grow, to breathe, to move and to feed.
Where do we get energy?
We get energy from our food.
Give an example of a source of energy.
Food. When you run, your muscles use energy. The energy for your muscles comes from the food you eat.
Where is energy stored?
In food.
Where does energy in food come from?
The sun. Plants use light energy from the sun to make their own food. Their food gives them energy to live. As they grow, they store some of their food in their bodies.
Who do plants provide food for?
Animals and people
What do plants get from the soil?
Water and nutrients.
What do we use energy for?
Everything we do.
Where does the energy in our food come from?
The sun.
What is the transfer of energy?
Process by which energy goes from one part of an energy chain to another
What is an energy chain
The order in which energy goes from the Sun to a plant or animal
What energy does the Sun give
The Sun gives heat and light energy
What do plants do with the light and heat energy
They turn the light and heat energy into food

Animals get their energy from plants or other animals they eat

The Sun gives energy to a plant then a cow eats it and get that energy then people take milk from the cow and then they give the milk to a baby
