Define gravitation potential energy
The energy possessed by an object in the system “object + earth” is due to the position of the object relative to the surface of the earth
Define mechanical work
Done when a force is applied onto an object, displaces the object in the direction of the force or a component of the force
Define Kinetic energy
Energy possessed by a moving object
Define Mechanical energy
the sum of gravitational potential energy and kinetic energy
Define Power
The rate at which energy is transformed
Define Efficiency
The ratio of useful energy produced to the amount of energy used as a percentage
Define conservation of energy
The total amount of energy that exists in the university is conserved. New energy cannot be created, and existing energy cannot disappear. The energy that exists can only be transformed from one form to another
