A
- vaginal Ex + speculum (to exclude other DDX)
- transvaginal/s endo thickening >4mm - take a biopsy
- hysteroscopy - biopsy

RFs
A
excessive oestrogen:
- obesity
- unopposed tamoxifen
- PCOS
- early menarche, late menopause
POST MENOPAUSAL WOMEN
HNPCC - Lynch Type II (repro and GI cancers)

A
1a - 1/2 inner myometrium
1b - 1/2 outer myometrium
2 - cervix, vaginal extension
3 a,b,c - nodes
4 - outwith pelvis
most women are stage 1

2 histological types of endometrial cancer
A
- endometrioid adenocarcinoma - MOST COMMON
2. uterine serous + clear cell carcinoma - HIGH GRADE, POOR PROG –> older women

tx
A
early stage - TAH + BSO + peritoneal washing
high risk - chemo
advanced - radio with external beam or caesium insertion
palliation: progesterone
