A
  1. Primary purpose endocrine e.g. discrete organs, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, pineal
  2. Endocrine combined with other functions e.g. pancreas, testes, ovaries, placenta
  3. Secondary endocrine function e.g. liver, kidney, thymus, heart, GIT

Overall is regulated by homeostasis

  1. Hormonal - pituitary releasing hormones e.g. FSH
  2. Neural - adrenal medulla
  3. Humoral - BP and kidneys JG apparatus, physical change that causes release of hormone
