Pituitary anterior lobe
Growth hormone prolactin hormone follicle-stimulating hormone ACTH and thyroid stimulating hormone
Posterior pituitary gland
Stores oxytocin and ADH
Thyroid gland
Located in the anterior portion of the neck stimulated by TSH produce T3 and T4 and calcitonin
Parathyroid
Located posters side of a thyroid and produces parathormone. Controls calcium concentration in the blood by raising blood calcium levels
Adrenal cortex
Over the kidneys, produces mineral corticoids and glucocorticoid and androgen
Adrenal medulla
Response to the sympathetic nervous system and produces epinephrine and norepinephrine
Pancreas
Is posterior to the stomach and produces insulin and glucagon. Is important for protein and fat metabolism and that increases the blood level of glucose
Thymus gland
What is posterior to the sternum and secretes many hormones, one of which is the Thompson
Ovaries
Secretes Estrogen and progesterone
Testes
Produce sperm Andy testosterone essential for male sex characteristics
