Antithyroid Agents:
- Propylthiouracil (PTU)
- Methimazole (Tapazole)
- Lithium
Iodine Preparations:
- Strong Iodine (Lugol’s solution)
- Saturated solution of potassium iodide (SSKI)
- Potassium Iodide tabs, solution, or syrup

Hyperaldosteronism
A
Spironolactone (Aldactone): potassium sparing diuretic. Watch for hyperkalemia. Avoid K+ supplements. Teach patient signs of hyponatremia such as dry mouth or lethargy.
