Hormones

Increases the availability of glucose.

Used for glycemic control of diabetes mellitus (type 1, type 2, gestational) to prevent complications.

Produces hormones called corticosteroids.

Oral therapy for chronic adrenal insufficiency.
Cortisone
Used to diagnose Cushing’s syndrome.
Dexamethasone
Synthetic form of thyroxine (T4) or a combination of T3 and T4 that increase metabolic rate, protein synthesis, cardiac output, renal perfusion, oxygen use, body temperature, blood volume, and growth processes.
