What are the S/S of ESRD?
A
- ↓ U/o, or no urine output
- generalized pruritus
- Easy bruising/bleeding
- N/V/D
- Malaise/Fatigue/HA
- Lethargy

What are some potential outcomes of Uremic Syndrome?
A
- Uremic Encephalopathy – confusion, stupor, coma,
- Severe Fatigue
- Anorexia, N/V, weight loss
- Pericarditis – inflammation & excess fluid in sac around heart
- Pleural effusion – SOB due to fluid around lungs

What are indications for Hemodialysis?
A
- Control of electrolytes (hyperkalemia)
- Control of volume status
- Control of uremia
- Control of acidosis
- GFR estimation <10-15mls/min

What are the S/E of Hemodialysis?
A
- Rapid loss of plasma solute concentration and PH in addition to the ultrafiltration of H20.
- hypotension, muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting, headaches, seizures
