1555: Charles ill and worn out, goes to live in Monastery in Yuste (Spain).
Gives Ferdinand control of HRE.
Gives Phillip Netherlands
Phillip gets Spain in 1556.
Charles secured country for his son, there was a lack of opposition to the Crown.
Phillip had been born in Spain so was likely to be accepted.
Threats of Protestantism in Spain now gone.
Phillip had already been Regent of Spain before.
However, Not much money for Phillip- he had to declare bankruptcy at start of his reign.
