A punctuation mark placed at the end of a sentence
What are the types of end marks?
Period (.), Exclamation points (!), and Question Marks (?)
When do you use a period?
At the end of a declarative sentence or imperative sentence

A request or a command
When do you use a question mark?
At the end of in interrogative sentences
What is an interrogative sentence?

When do you use an exclamation point?
At the end of an exclamatory sentence, an imperative sentence or after an interjection

What is an interjection?
Words like Hey! Wow!
When do you use a period after abbreviations?
Personal names/titles, titles with names, organizations, addresses, time, and geographical names
When do you not use a period in abbreviations?
If the organization/gov’t agency is widely known
When do you abbreviate the state name? (P.A., V.A.)
If it is not followed by a zip code
What units of measure do you abbreviate?
Inch (In.) so it is not confused with “in”
When you have a period at the end of a sentence as an abbreviation, do you add another to end the sentence?
