A

BSi, Scene Safe, AVPU, check breathing, check pulse (5 sec), call for additional EMS assistance, head tilt chin lift, measure suction, insert without suction, suction 10-15seconds in sweeping motion, insert OPA, BVM at rate of 12/min (1 every 6 seconds), have partner connect BVM to oxygen, check pulse, continue BVM, look for adequate chest rise

Oxygen Admin by Non-Rebreather Mask

A

BSI, Scene safe, gather equipment, crack valve on tank, check regular for O-ring, apply regulator, open the tank, check tank pressure, connect NRB, turn regulator to 15L/min, check for leaks, let bag fill halfway, apply mask to patient’s face

Disassembly (bonus): Remove mask, close regulator, close tank, open regulator, remove regulator, put tank away.

Cardiac Arrest Management

BSI, Scene safe, ask if anyone saw what happened, AVPU, check breathing, check pulse, begin compressions, call for additional EMS, call for AED, 30 compressions to 2 breaths with pocket mask, after 5 cycles, check for pulse quickly, communicate exchange when AED arrives, turn AED on, follow prompts to apply pads, then plug in pads, clear patient when analyzing, clear again when shocking, direct partner to resume compressions
