What are the key elements of EMS
- Clear definition of objectives and targets (comply with EP, reduce impacts, comply with legal requirements)
- Accountability for environmental action
- Stated procedures & programmes - to meet obj, day to day work
- Ensure employees environmental awareness and competence
- Monitoring, checking, auditing system
- Implementation of actions - continual improvement and review EMS progress
- Proactive progs in which senior management plans and active role.

What is an Environmental Policy Statement?
A SET of fundamental and clear stated goals & principles.
Outline environmental commitments
The policy provides a unified vision of environmental principles and guide corporate activities. And a foundation and focus of more comprehensive plans and practices
The policy must be publicly available, reviewed and adapted when necessary.
Define objectives.

Define targets
Series of benchmarks towards such goals/ objectives
What are ENvironmental performance indicators?
They monitor companyโs environmental performance eg energy consumption. Often divide into materials / energy / infrastructure.
What are the types of environmental indicators.

Give an example of objectives.
